The design phase moves at your pace. You work alongside our in-house designer and your New Home Consultant, we include 3 versions of your plan, and each revision takes approximately 2 weeks to process. Once you approve your final design and accept your construction proposal, your build schedule locks in and the weeks begin counting from that point.
How long does the home building process take?
Design takes 2 to 6 weeks and your construction proposal 1 to 2 weeks. From there, building approval is lodged around week ten, with your construction slot confirmed at engineering.
When do I sign a fixed-price contract?
Around week seven. Once engineering, colour selections and plans are final, we issue your fixed-price Master Builders contract. You sign it and pay the balance of your 5% deposit.
When will I know about any extra costs?
Before you sign. Engineering extras are itemised at week four and selection extras at your colours appointment, each for your approval, ahead of your fixed-price contract.
What do I need to do at each step?
Approve your plans and proposal, pay your deposits, confirm your colours booking and land settlement date, then sign your contract. Each slider step above lists your tasks.
How will I know how my build is going?
Through your client portal. We post weekly updates from the day you sign up through to key handover, so you can follow progress without having to chase us for news.
Is the process the same for a custom home?
The steps are the same. A custom home or knockdown rebuild may spend longer in design, since revisions take about two weeks each and three plan versions are included.
What happens before work starts on site?
We lodge your building approval and covenant application around week ten, then confirm your start date. You provide an authority to commence letter and a mowed, clear block.
Where do I start?
Pick a starting point from our home designs or bring your own ideas, then book a consultation. We’ll talk through your block, budget and inclusions before design begins.
