Sloping block builders on the Sunshine Coast
Got a block with a view and a fall? We design and build homes for sloping sites, including blocks with over 600mm of fall that volume builders often pass on.
From site survey to handover
Sloping blocks need the right plan from day one. We order a soil test and site contours, then design your home to follow the fall and keep earthworks sensible.
- Soil test, contours and site inspection
- Split-level or custom designs for the fall
- Engineering and retaining priced before contract
- Our own carpenters, from start to finish

Our builder, Arcadia, was absolutely fantastic throughout our entire project. From the very beginning, their team was incredibly helpful, guiding us through every decision and making the whole build feel smooth and stress-free. Everything ran seamlessly, and any questions or concerns we had were handled promptly and professionally. Thanks to Arcadia and the team, the whole experience was not just efficient, but genuinely enjoyable.
We built our first home with Arcadia homes and the team went above and beyond to make our building experience a positive one. Mitchell understood our budget and our dream home vision and delivered. The build has blown away our expectations. We will forever be grateful for what Arcadia homes have been able to do for our family. We can’t recommend Arcadia homes highly enough, we will definitely be back to build with the team again in the future.
Arcadia Homes were an absolute pleasure to build with! We received our keys just before Christmas (completing the build eariler then expected) it was the best Christmas present ever, thank you Arcadia! The team allowed us to visit the construction site at certain periods of the build which allowed us to see if it was everything we pictured or if we had any concerns we could raise them right there so we can make an amendment. There planning was spot on and the only change we had was that we wanted a barn door which they happily helped us out with. when we build again, it will be through Arcadia homes for sure!
Do you build on steep sloping blocks?
Yes, regularly. Sloping and steep blocks are everyday work for us, including sites with over roughly 600mm of fall that many volume builders won’t take on.
Does a sloping block cost more to build on?
Usually, through engineering, retaining and site works. We show site costs in your pricing early and itemise any engineering extras before you sign a contract.
What house designs suit a sloping block?
Split-level designs often suit best, as they follow the contour and reduce earthworks. Browse our sloping home designs, or ask us to adapt a standard design.
What do you check before designing on a slope?
We order a soil test and site contours and complete a site inspection. Sloping sites may need extra reports, so the upfront deposit can differ from a flat block.
What is included in your advertised price?
The price we advertise is the price we expect you to sign. We build every estimate to reflect what your contract will actually look like, rather than opening with a low base price and adding items through the sales process. If something sits outside the price, we will tell you before you commit.
Can I do a knockdown rebuild on a sloping block?
Yes. Many established blocks have a fall, and our knockdown rebuild process covers demolition, design and approvals for the new home in one contract.
Do you build sloping homes in the hinterland?
Yes. We build across the coastal and hinterland Sunshine Coast and in Moreton Bay. Tell us where your block is and we’ll talk through it at consultation.
